Tips for School

If you're half a procrastinator and workaholic, then I this post is for you.

Recently I've been in those moods wherein I feel like I want to be productive and get things done as soon as possible so I wouldn't have to worry and let my school work interfere with my personal and free time.
We all know that in every good thing, there's a bad thing and the opposite of being a workaholic is being a procrastinator. I admit that most of my school days were spent procrastinating on getting homework or projects done but one of my New Year's Resolutions is that I should completely stop that habit cause to be honest, it's not doing any good.
So this year, I've been coming up with fun things to kind of get me in the mood to study or do assignments and stuff.

Here are some tips which would hopefully be useful for you in homework and basically in being productive:

1. NEVER tell yourself that you'd be doing this or that tomorrow
Let's be honest here, a lot of you have always told yourself that you could be doing more fun stuff rather than your homework, and that's true but the question you should ask yourself is, which is more important? The time your wasting online or doing work to get good grades and aim for a high GPA?
Procrastinating is a real thing and all of us have experienced that one way or another but try to look for ways to avoid yourself from procrastinating and actually doing work, I remember when I first started learning guitar (self-learned) I was so frustrated since I could not get the chords to sound nice and in tune. I won't lie, I nearly gave up but now, I'm so happy that I didn't.
It's just like doing school or work. You just have to learn to love it and just keep practicing everyday no matter how much you hate it, it will all make sense in the end.

2. Make fun reminders on the things you're supposed to finish in that day
I always make "fun" reminders on what I should be doing later on after school. Basically I just take my notebook, note down after every period what I need to get done, and color it with random stuff. I just use my pen and highlighter for this one.
For me, this helped me a lot since 2016 was the year of 'Bianca the Procrastinator'. But like what they say (this may sound cringe-y) NEW YEAR NEW ME. (I had to say that)
I realized that noting down what you should be getting done in your free time helps and saves time a lot since I get bored easily when I'm not doing something and if I'm not on my phone, I'm reading a book and if I'm not reading a book, I pick up my guitar so instead of doing those things which distract me from doing real work, I just pick up my notebook and see what I need to get done on that day so I wouldn't be worrying about getting a 0 on my assignment tomorrow.

3. Have a timetable
This may sound like something a parent would do for their kid.. But as a teen, this helped me a lot as well. I set time aside for school work and another time for leisure and "me" time.
I recommend that you make a table or whichever you prefer and put down the time you're in school or at work. When you arrive home from school or work, rest for about an hour and 30 minutes which you usually spend on eating and chores and stuff. Then for about 3 hours, put that time in for doing work with some breaks in between. After that, just have the rest of your free time doing whatever you want!
Trust me, timetables really help in being productive instead of just lazing around holding your phone or going on your laptop cause one day you will realize that you have all of the time in the world to do that when you're older. You just have to focus on what you need to get done today, tomorrow, and in the future.

That's all I have for now. I hope you find these tips useful!

Thanks for reading!
